Costa Rican Institute of Electricity (ICE) launches their mobile app developed by aPlicativa

San Jose, Costa Rica. August 26th, 2014 – The Costa Rican Electricity Institute (ICE, by its initials in Spanish), has entered the world of mobile software with its new “ICE Energía” (ICE Energy) application, developed by aPlicativa for iOS and Android. Through this app, the Institute can notify its clients about current service interruptions and planned maintenance works within the user’s area, with all the information shown on an intuitive geographic interface relative to the current position of the client.

With “ICE Energía”, users can also locate the closest ICE branches, and obtain advice to reduce their energy consumption and utilize electrical resources in the most efficient manner. This app opens a two-direction communication channel between ICE and its clients, as the latter can use it to report service anomalies and interruptions in their communities, adding their own descriptions and pictures of the incidents. This way, “ICE Energía” becomes a mechanism to increase client empowerment and bring users closer to the institution.

aPlicativa is proud to be part of this endeavor initiated by different government institutions in Costa Rica, which consists of adopting mobile technologies to get closer to the population and establish direct communication channels with their clients and users.

“ICE Energía” can be downloaded at no cost from the respective application stores:
